ECU (2-4) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 66-63 win over Rider (0-6) at the Seton Hall Thanksgiving Classic. Dominique Claytor was named to the all-tournament team with a career-high14 points and grabbed nine rebounds, one shy of her third-consecutive double-double. Thais Oliveira added 14 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Ariyana Williams and Alex Frazier each had 10 points.
UCF 53, Northern Iowa 43
UCF (4-3) collected its fourth win on the season with a 53-43 victory over Northern Iowa (2-3) in the UCF Thanksgiving Classic. Aliyah Gregory posted a game-high 16 points, while Nyala Shuler grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Korneila Wright was active on defense and tallied a game-high four steals.
Wichita State 76, UC Irvine 53
Wichita State (1-6) stormed past UC Irvine (2-5) 76-53 Sunday afternoon to pick up the first win under inaugural head coach Keitha Adams. Rangie Bessard led all scorers with a season-high 23 points, marking her second straight game with 20 or more points. Angiee Tompkins chipped in 13 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes of play.
17/16USF 68, St. John’s 59
USF (6-1) defeated St. John’s (3-2) 68-59 and finished third at the Gulf Coast Showcase. Maria Jespersen led the Bulls with 25 points. Kitija Laksa scored 18 points and added eight rebounds, while Laura Ferreira tallied 12 points and seven rebounds.
