UCF and Temple advance to the second round of the NIVC tomorrow

- Both UCF and Temple swept their opponents in the opening round of the National Invitational Volleyball Tournament (NIVC) to advance to play the second round tomorrow night.

The Knights brought their winning streak into the postseason, earning their seven straight win over UNC Greensboro in the opening round of the NIVC. UCF has swept its past seven opponents, as it prepares to take on the host Georgia tomorrow night. Kia Bright earned her conference-leading 22nd double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs, while Kristina Fisher put down 11 kills with a .300 hitting percentage in the win. Jeanne Westney accounted for eight blocks, as UCF held the Spartans to hitting .059.
 
Campbell 0, Temple 3
The Owls will join the Knights in the second round of the NIVC after sweeping Campbell in West Virginia. Temple will face the host Mountaineers tomorrow night. The Owls hit .316, while holding the Camels to hitting -.044 on the way to capturing their fourth straight 20-win season. Kyra Coundourides paced the offense with 30 assists, while Iva Deak knocked down 10 kills with no errors for a .667 hitting percentage. Temple led 13-2 in blocks with Janine Simmons accounting for six stuffs.
