Five USF (8-2) players scored in double figures in the 108-48 defeat over Southern (1-7) Friday night. Kitija Laksa scored 40 points and became the second player in program history to score 40 or more points in a single game. Laia Flores recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 assists. Alyssa Rader scored 13 points to go with six rebounds while Tamara Henshaw and Laura Ferreira each added 10 points.
Wichita State 66, Chicago State 63
Wichita State (4-8) kicked off its Shockers Winter Classic with a 66-63 win over Chicago State (0-11) Friday night. Rangie Bessard collected her third double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Angiee Tompkins added a career-best 18 points off the bench and grabbed eight rebounds, while Diamond Lockhart scored 15 points and tallied five rebounds.
