UCF’s DANNY WHITE HONORED AS RECIPIENT OF 2017 SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL’S FORTY UNDER 40

PROVIDENCE – The American Athletic Conference congratulates UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White on being named a Sports Business Daily/Global/Journal's 2017 Forty Under 40 honoree.

This marks the second consecutive year that an athletic director from The American has received this honor. Dr. Patrick Kraft of Temple University was selected in 2016.

White has held his current position within the Knights’ Athletic Department since Dec. 2015 after serving as athletic director at the State University of New York at Buffalo from 2012-15. He also has held senior leadership positions at the University of Mississippi, California State University-Fresno and Northern Illinois University. White played collegiate basketball at Towson University and the University of Notre Dame.

“Danny has had an immediate and powerful impact on UCF athletics,” American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco said. “He has a bold vision for the future of UCF’s athletic programs and is working diligently to capture the University’s enormous athletic potential. He has made several high-profile hires in the last 15 months. Our Conference admires what he has accomplished and the commitment that he has made to achieving excellence for his student-athletes both in the classroom and on the playing fields and courts. We are fortunate to have him as a leader in The American and in intercollegiate athletics. This is a well-deserved recognition for Danny.”
