Pujol's Career Night Powers USF Past Houston

Ariadna Pujol scored 24 points and USF used a 24-point third quarter to pull away from Houston 79-50 Tuesday night at Hofheinz Pavilion.

Pujol was two points shy of her career high 26 points but set a new career high with 14 rebounds. It is the senior’s third career double-double and the second-consecutive game with at least 10 rebounds. She shot 53 percent from the floor (10-of-19) and added one assist and one steal in 37 minutes.

Kitija Laksa added 24 points and Maria Jespersen chipped in 12 points and six rebounds. Laia Flores flirted with what could have been the program’s second triple-double in the Bulls’ 45-year history. Flores turned in 10 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Tamara Henshaw notched 10 rebounds for the Bulls, who outrebounded Houston 51-34 and snapped a two-game losing streak.

Serithia Hawksins scored 16 points to go with 10 rebounds to lead the Cougars.
