Bre McDonald led ECU with 24 points and 12 rebounds while Kristen Gaffney scored 20 points and added 11 boards marking the first time two Pirates had double-doubles since an overtime loss to Tulsa on January 31. The win snapped an 11-game losing streak for the Pirates. East Carolina took its largest lead of the game (23 points) in the third quarter and shot 61.1-percent (11-of-18) from the field during the stanza in ECU's highest scoring quarter in conference play this season. Shanice Johnson posted her 12th double-double of the season for the Bearcats with team-highs of 14 points and 14 rebounds. Johnson was matched in scoring by both Bianca Quisenberry and Antoinette Miller, who each added 14.
