Keire Earns All-America Honor at NCAA Championships



INDIANAPOLIS - Cincinnati senior Jacqueline Keire earned All-America honors at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships over the weekend.

Keire finished the 200 freestyle with a seventh-place time of 1:43.69.  Olympic Champion Katie Ledecky of Stanford and Mallory Comerford of Louisville tied for first in the 200 with a time of 1:40.36. Additionally, Keire swam to a 20th place finish in the 50 freestyle and a 21st place finish in the 100 freestyle.

Senior Marne Erasmus and junior Matea Samardzic represented SMU in Indianapolis. Erasmus placed 26th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.41, while Samardzic took 24th in the 400 IM (4:10.13) and 25th in the 200 backstroke (1:53.42).

Junior Vendela Norrman of East Carolina competed in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Norrman placed 40th in the 200 with a time of 2:21.02 and 46th in the 100 with a time of 1:01.77.

UConn senior Alli Butera competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. On the 1-meter board, she compiled 240.35 points for 43rd place and produced 255.15 points to finish 45th amongst the 3-meter field.
