SMU fell to Indiana, 64-44, Thursday night in the third round of the WNIT, and were eliminated in the round of 16. The Mustangs ended the season 19-15 under first-year head coach Travis Mays.
Alicia Froling led SMU with 16 points and nine rebounds. Kiara Perry added 10 points, four rebounds and three steals, while Devri Owens posted eight points, shooting 2-for-4 from the 3-point line.
Karlee McBride finished with 17 points (4-for-9 3FG) and five rebounds to pace the Hoosiers, while Amanda Cahill added 10 points with nine rebounds.
Froling ended the season with 339 rebounds, breaking the single-season record for the second straight year. As a team, SMU set the single-season blocks record for the third straight year with 187, and set a new single-season record for rebounds with 1,409, eclipsing 1,400 for the first time in program history.
Froling ended the season averaging a team-high 14.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, the only player in the American Athletic Conference to average a double-double. The junior posted an SMU single-season record 16 double-doubles and was an All-American Athletic Conference second team selection. McKenzie Adams ended the season scoring double figures in 24 of SMU's 34 games and averaged 12.2 points per game.
