Highlights
- UCF competed at the Pepsi Florida Relays and took home two second-place finishes. Jahne’ Carter finished second in the shot put with a mark of 15.32m and the 4x800m relay squad took the silver with a time of 8:42.00.
- Cincinnati hosted the Oliver Nikoloff Open and the Bearcats won both the men’s and women’s team competitions. The Bearcats won 17 events and swept the podium in the women’s 100m dash, 200m dash, high jump, and pole vault.
- The UConn men’s team was at the Florida Relays and the distance medley team posted the best finish for the Huskies, finishing fourth with a time of 10:07.95.
- Emily Durgin broke the UConn women’s outdoor school record for the 5,000m, breaking the record by 40 seconds with a time of 16:05.44 at the Stanford Invitational.
- East Carolina split its squad participating at the High Point VertKlasse Meeting and the Pepsi Florida Relays over the weekend. Galissia Cause was the lone Pirate to win an event, taking home gold in the shot put at the Florida Relays with a mark of 15.90m. Adam Manns and Evan McCracken posted the best finish on the men’s side with both competitors taking home silver, Manss in the discus (55.04m) and McCracken in the shot put (17.32m).
- Houston Won three events at the Texas Relays. Trumaine Jefferson took home gold in the long jump with a leap of 7.71m, Nathaniel Mechler won the decathlon with 7,255 points and the men’s 4x400m relay won in a time of 3:07.15.
- Memphis took home eight first place titles at the Joey Haines Invitational. Michael Criticos (60.06m) and Ashley Pryke (50.36m) each won the men’s and women’s javelin, respectively, for the third-straight week. On the men’s side, Other gold medal winners were Davon Demoss (200m, 20.99), Aaron Persingler (400m hurdles, 54.12) and the 4x100m relay (41.39). On the women’s side, Cera Chavez (200m, 24.00), Dorina Baiker (pole vault, 4.05m) and 4x400m relay (3:56.27) all won gold.
- South Florida competed in three meets over the weekend. On the women’s side, Mira Corroza had the best finish for the Bulls with a fourth-place throw in the javelin of 44.18m. Joe Bell had the best finish for USF on the men’s side with a fourth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 5.06m.
- SMU split its squad to three events over the weekend and the Mustangs took home two gold medals at the Bobcat Invitational. Latessa Johnson won the women’s 200m with a time of 23.12 and Anna Novosadova won the heptathlon with 4,511 points.
- Temple was in Williamsburg, Va., for the Colonial Relays and Bionca St. Fleur grabbed a first-place finish in the women’s 200m with a time of 24.56.
- Tulsa finished with three first-place finishes at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. On the men’s side Robert Tulley won the 800m with a time of 1:52.10 and Mark Middleton won the 1,500m in 3:25.81. Stacie Taylor won the women’s 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 10.33.07.
