Temple won its first American Athletic Conference league match 1-0 vs. ECU at the Temple Sports Complex Thursday night. Kerri McGinley scored for the Owls off a one-on-one opportunity with the Pirates goalkeeper.
UCF
13/23 defeated Tulsa 6-1 to remain unbeaten (2-0-1) in conference play. Five Knights put points on the board including Dina Orschmann, Morgan Ferrara (two goals), Stephanie Sanders, Julie Moore and Christine Creighton. Sophomore forward Reagan Whitlow registered Tulsa's lone goal at the 77:51 mark as she drilled in a goal from 35 yards out off a free kick. The six-goal performance was a program-best in American Athletic Conference action.
Cincinnati
RV/21 finished 1-0 over UConn Thursday night at Morrone Stadium to improve 2-0-1 in league action. Bearcats junior midfielder Jill Vetere scored the game's only goal at the 65:24 mark from seven yards out off senior midfielder Katy Couperus' blast that hit the crossbar. The defense posted its third clean-sheet in a row, the 'cats are yet to allow a goal in league play.
USF never trailed in its 3-1 win vs. Memphis Thursday night at Corbett Stadium. Sophomore forward Aubrey Megrath scored in the first four minutes to open the match. Senior defender Grace Adams converted a penalty kick to put the Bulls ahead two. Sophomore forward Evelyne Viens created a scoring opportunitiy and was credited the third goal of the match.
