Kolby Morgan reached 30 points for the fifth time in her career in a 72-63 Tulane (9-6, 1-1) victory over Tulsa (7-8, 1-1) Wednesday afternoon. Three other players scored in double figures including Kayla Manuirirangi (12 points), Harlyn Wyatt (11) and Meredith Schulte (11 points).
Four Tulsa players reached double figures in the contest. Alexis Gaulden and Shug Dickson both finished with 14 points. Rebecca Lescay tallied 13, while Erika Wakefield added 12.
1/1 UConn 96, ECU 35
UConn (12-0, 2-0) defeated ECU (8-7, 0-2) 96-35 Wednesday. Katie Lou Samuelson scored 19 points and had a season-best nine of the Huskies 31 assists. Gabby Williams added 18 points, Napheesa Collier had 14 points and Azura Stevens matched a season-high in rebounds with 16. Megan Walker and Crystal Dangerfield each chipped in 1 points for UConn.
Alex Frazier and Destiny Campbell had eight points apiece to lead ECU in scoring.
RV/22 USF 69, Cincinnati 46
USF (12-3, 2-0) routed Cincinnati (9-6,1-1) 69-46 Wednesday night. The Bulls open conference play 2-0 for the fourth straight season. Maria Jespersen led the team with 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Laura Ferreira recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kitija Laksa turned in 12 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Angel Rizor led the Bearcats with 13 points and IImar'i Thomas added 12.
UCF 60, SMU 42
UCF (10-5, 2-0) collected a 60-42 win against SMU (6-9, 0-2) Wednesday night. Masseny Kaba led all scorers in the game with 16 points, while Korneila Wright and Lawriel Wilson each had 10 points. The Knights tallied a total of 13 steals and converted 23 points off 21 forced turnovers.
Three Mustangs scored in double figures. McKenzie Adams led the squad with 14 points, while Kiara Perry totaled 12 and Mikayla Reese added 10.
