Temple (9-5, 1-1) outscored SMU (6-10, 0-3) in the second, third and fourth quarter to clinch a 55-52 edge Sunday afternoon. Tanaya Atkinson posted her 10th a double-double of the season with a game-high 23 points and game-best 11 rebounds. Mia Davis had 10 points and five rebounds. Mykia Jones and Emani Mayo chipped in nine and eight points, respectively.
SMU held the advantage in offensive (16-13) and defensive (33-27) rebounds. McKenzie Adams led the Mustangs in scoring with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Klara Bradshaw added 10 points and six boards off the bench.
