Highlights
The American’s baseball teams went 6-3 on Saturday with No. 19 UCF, No. 17 CU and USF clinching series wins.
 
UConn secured its first shutout of the year and took down its second ranked opponent this week with a 1-0 win over No. 29 St. John’s. The Huskies will face the Red Storm again tomorrow in the rubber match. Mason Feole pitched six shutout innings and had eight strikeouts.
 
The Knights homered five times in a 20-1 victory over Chicago State. UCF hitters matched a season-high 16 hits, as the pitchers held combined for a one hitter with 11 strikeouts.
 
USF extended its winning streak to seven, defeating Army, 5-2, Saturday to clinch the weekend series. The Bulls had 10 hits for the 12th time this season, as starter Peter  Strzelecki struck out 11 batters and did not allow a walk in 7.0 innings. He has 23 strikeouts in his last two starts.
 
Tulane scored nine runs in the middle innings on its way to a 10-6 bounce-back win over Long Beach State to even up the series. All nine starters contributed either a hit or an RBI for Green Wave.
 
Houston used an 11th inning, RBI-double by sophomore Lael Lockhart Jr. to cap a 4-3, walkoff win over Columbia. Saturday's 4-3 walkoff win was the fourth walkoff win for Houston this season, as the Cougars its fifth extra-inning game of 2018.
 
Starter Chris Holba allowed two runs over 5.1 innings, while Brady Lloyd collected a career-high five hits and scored five runs as No. 17 ECU claimed a series victory over Maryland with an 18-4 rout. The Pirates improved to 8-0 when registering double-digit hits in a game.
