Highlights
The American’s baseball teams wrapped up their fifth week of conference play on Sunday, as No. 24 UConn, Houston and USF each clinched a weekend series. Houston completed a sweep over  No. 24 Wichita State, while UConn and USF each won their respective rubber match. With its third win of the weekend, the Cougars (10-5) held onto their top spot along side No. 11 ECU (8-4) in conference standings.

- Houston used timely hitting and dominant pitching to complete the sweep of Wichita State with a 6-5 win in Game 1 and a 3-1 victory in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader at Schroeder Park. Houston captured its seventh weekend series win and third in conference play. In Game 1, starter Aaron Fletcher went 6.0 innings, allowing just four earned runs on eight hits with one walk, while striking out seven. Grayson Padgett led off the bottom of the seventh and ended it with one swing as he belted his second walk off home run of the year, a solo shot to right field for the 6-5 win. In Game 2, sophomore reliever Carter Henry was lights out in his final 3.0 innings of work, surrendering just one hit and one walk with five strikeouts to collect his fifth save of the year and second on the weekend.

-  UConn scored five runs through the final three innings to clinch its rubber match at Cincinnati, 8-5. Five Huskies had a multi-hit game, as outfielder Troy Stefanski and designated hitter Christian Fedko combined for five hits and four RBIs.

- After giving up a pair of runs in the second inning, USF’s pitching shut out UCF through the final seven frames to clinch the series and War on I-4 title. Third baseman David Villar, first baseman Carson Ragsdale and outfielder Garrett Zech each enjoyed a two-hit game in the win. Six of the Bulls’ 10 hits went for extra bases. Outfielder Duke Stunkel Jr. hit a two-run home run in the third inning to fuel a three-run surge.
