Cincinnati (13-4, 5-0) remained atop the East Division of The American after racing past UConn (8-9, 2-3) in straight sets on Friday night in Storrs, Connecticut. The Bearcats downed the Huskies 25-14, 25-14, 25-20 at Gampel Pavilion.
 
Jordan Thompson paced Cincinnati with 15 kills and a .433 hitting percentage in the win, while Maria Mallon logged a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs. Armania Heckenmueller chipped in 37 assists and four digs for the Bearcats.
 
Caylee Parker led the way for UConn with six kills and five digs, and Anna Petrova added five kills and six digs. Courtney Morris finished the match with 10 assists and five digs.
 
Houston 3, Wichita State 1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-16)
 
Houston (11-9, 5-0) claimed its sixth straight victory and fifth in conference play to stay in front of The American West Division, dropping host Wichita State (4-13, 1-4) in four sets. The Cougars bounced back from a setback in the opening frame to defeat the Shockers 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-16.
 
Abbie Jackson guided Houston with 16 kills and six digs in the triumph, and Megan Duncan notched a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. Katie Karbo added a match-high 18 digs, while Abby Irvine chipped in a double-double of 39 assists and 15 digs.
 
Megan Taflinger finished with a match-high 20 kills to go along with seven digs in defeat for Wichita State, while Brylee Kelly recorded nine kills and five digs. McKayla Wuensch contributed 30 assists and 12 digs to post a double-double for the Shockers.
 
UCF 3, USF 1 (24-26, 25-12, 25-20, 25-12)
 
UCF (11-6. 4-1) secured a rivalry win in front of a packed crowd at The Corral in Tampa, Florida, dropping USF (7-12, 1-4) in four sets. The Knights emerged with a 24-26, 25-12, 25-20, 25-12 win.
 
McKenna Melville hit at a .333 clip for UCF, leading the Knights with 18 kills while adding 11 digs. Kristina Fisher contributed 14 kills and a team-high 15 digs, while Erin Olson and Dresi Pass each finished the contest with 24 assists.
 
Jac St. Cin paced USF with 14 kills and a .417 hitting percentage, while Lindsey Pliapol turned in a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs. CC Clausen finished with a match-high 22 digs for the Bulls.
 
Tulsa 3, Tulane 1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 30-28)
 
Tulsa (11-7, 4-1) earned a crucial four-set conference victory at home over Tulane (13-5, 3-2), dropping the Green Wave 25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 30-28 at Reynolds Coliseum in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
 
Dilara Gedikoglu shined for Tulsa with 26 kills at a .352 hitting percentage and nine digs, while reigning conference defensive player of the week Taylor Horsfall chipped in 27 digs. Roosa Rautio added a double-double with 27 assists and 11 digs for the Golden Hurricane.
 
Kayla Dinkins led the way for Tulane with 15 kills, and Lauryn Green hit at a .579 clip on her way to 13 kills and five blocks of her own. Kaylie McHugh finished the match with a team-high 21 digs.
 
SMU 3, Memphis 1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-15, 25-21)
 
SMU (10-5, 3-2) handled Memphis (11-6, 0-5) in four sets on Friday at Moody Coliseum in Dallas, taking down the Tigers by a 25-23, 21-25, 25-15, 25-21 final.
 
Rachel Woulfe’s 18 kills set the pace for SMU, and Hannah Jacobs and Alex Glover both added 14 kills each in the victory. Lily Heim shined with a match-high 54 assists along with 13 digs for the Mustangs.
 
Hannah Flowers and Andrea O’Connor tied for the team lead in kills with 13 each for Memphis, while Kaitlyn Gehler contributed a match-high 19 digs.
 
Temple 3, East Carolina 1 (25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 25-13)
 
Temple (10-6, 1-4) claimed its first conference victory of the season by taking down East Carolina (13-5, 1-4) in four sets in Philadelphia. The Owls flew past the Pirates 25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 25-13.
 
Peyton Boyd, Naomi Janetzke and Katerina Papazoglou each tied with 16 kills to lead Temple to victory, and Averi Salvador chipped in a team-high 18 digs. Tyler Lindgren added yet another double-double with 51 assists and 11 digs for the Owls.
 
Sydney Kleinman’s 19 kills and 12 digs powered ECU in the loss, while Bri Wood added a double-double of her own with 17 kills and 12 digs. Brandee Markwith led the Pirates with 18 digs.
