Tulane 3, Cincinnati 0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-22)
 
Tulane (15-5, 5-2) scored a huge conference sweep over visiting Cincinnati (14-5, 6-1) on Friday night in New Orleans, handing the Bearcats their first defeat in American Athletic Conference play. The Green Wave rolled to a 25-23, 25-22, 25-22 victory at Fogelman Arena.
 
Lexie Douglas led Tulane with 14 kills and a .370 hitting percentage in the win, adding seven digs. Kayla Dinkins chipped in seven kills, six total blocks and two digs for the Green Wave, and Kaylie McHugh added a team-high 10 digs.
 
Maria Mallon’s 11 kills and eight digs led Cincinnati in defeat, while Jordan Thompson contributed eight kills and 12 digs. Armania Heckenmueller finished the contest with 31 assists and six digs for the Bearcats.
 
Houston 3, East Carolina 2 (21-25, 25-19, 20-25, 29-27, 16-14)
 
Houston (13-9, 7-0) battled back from a 2-1 deficit to remain unbeaten atop the West Division of the American Athletic Conference on Friday night against East Carolina (14-6, 2-5). The Cougars outlasted the Pirates 21-25, 25-19, 20-25, 29-27, 16-14 in five sets in Houston.
 
Megan Duncan’s 19 kills paced Houston in its eighth straight victory overall, while Kendall Haywood hit .371 in finishing with 17 kills and four digs. Katie Karbo logged 19 digs in the win for the Cougars, with Abby Irvine carding a double-double that featured 55 assists and 16 digs.
 
Natalie Tyson went for a double-double with 21 kills and 13 digs for ECU, while Bri Wood contributed 18 kills and 17 digs. Sydney Kleinman racked up 16 kills and 13 digs for the Pirates.
 
UCF 3, Wichita State 1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-23)
 
UCF (13-6, 6-1) dropped a hard-fought first set at Wichita State (4-15, 1-6) before righting the ship over the final three sets. The Knights moved into a share of the East Division lead in The American by way of a 23-25, 25-19, 25-11, 25-23 win in four sets in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday night.
 
McKenna Melville notched 18 kills and six digs for UCF, as Lache Harper added five kills, 10 block assists and 10 digs. Alli Sabol finished with 10 kills and five block assists in the win for the Knights, and Erin Olson chipped in 23 assists and nine digs.
 
Kara Brown (16) and Arianna Arjomand (15) both logged double-digit digs for Wichita State, while Megan Taflinger contributed 10 kills and seven digs. McKayla Wuensch recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 10 digs.
 
Tulsa 3, USF 0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-22)
 
Tulsa (12-8, 5-2) remained in second place in the West Division of The American by way of a straight-set sweep of USF (7-14, 1-6) on Friday night in Tulsa, as the Golden Hurricane rolled 25-14, 25-13, 25-22 at Reynolds Coliseum.
 
Dilara Gedikoglu paced Tulsa with 14 kills on the night, while Taylor Horsfall checked in with a match-high 22 digs to go along with seven assists and three service aces. Roosa Rautio logged 16 assists and eight digs for the Golden Hurricane.
 
CC Clausen finished with 18 digs to lead all players from USF. Lindsey Pliapol turned in five kills, five total blocks and six digs for the Bulls.
 
SMU 3, Temple 0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-20)
 
SMU (12-5, 5-2) cruised to its fifth straight win on Friday night against Temple (10-8, 1-6), dropping the Owls 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 at Moody Coliseum in Dallas.
 
Mekenzi Heckmann hit an impressive .467 with eight kills and six digs in the win for SMU, while Meryn Kennedy chipped in eight kills and seven total blocks. Montana Watts led all players with a match-high 12 digs.
 
Peyton Boyd registered a match-high 14 kills for Temple in defeat, and Gem Grimshaw posted a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. Averi Salvador tied Grimshaw for the team high with 11 digs.
 
Memphis 3, UConn 2 (17-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12)
 
Memphis (12-7, 1-6) picked up its first conference win of the season by vaulting past visiting UConn (8-11, 2-5) in five sets in Memphis. The Tigers took the win in a 17-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12 final.
 
Hannah Flowers bashed 22 kills and added six blocks for Memphis in victory, while Sabrina Bianco shined with 55 assists and 19 digs. Kaitlyn Gehler chipped in 18 digs for the Tigers.
 
Caylee Parker posted a double-double with 23 kills and 16 digs for UConn, as Mia Ruffolo notched 18 digs. Madi Whitmire finished with 35 assists and nine digs in defeat for the Huskies.
