Cincinnati (15-5, 7-1) remained in the lead in the East Division of The American by handing Houston (13-10, 7-1) its first conference loss of the season. The Bearcats emerged with a 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 18-25, 15-9 victory in Houston.
 
Jordan Thompson finished with a match-high 37 kills and added nine digs for Cincinnati, while Maria Mallon chipped in 24 kills and 13 digs in the victory. Armania Heckenmueller finished with 65 assists and 12 digs for the Bearcats.
 
Rachel Tullos established an American Athletic Conference record with 16 totals blocks on the day, including five solo blocks, surpassing the previous mark of 13 that had been logged on five prior occasions. Megan Duncan finished with 11 kills and 10 digs in the setback for Houston, and Katie Karbo added a team-high 14 digs. Abby Irvine contributed 35 assists and seven digs for the Cougars.
 
UCF 3, Tulsa 0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-23)
 
UCF (14-6, 7-1) earned its fifth straight win overall, keeping pace in the East Division after vanquishing Tulsa (12-9, 5-3) in straight sets on Sunday. The Knights took the win in a 25-17, 25-13, 25-23 final.
 
McKenna Melville led UCF with 16 kills and added eight digs in the win, while Kristina Fisher finished with 13 kills and 13 digs. Erin Olson’s 15 total digs set the pace for the Knights.
 
Taylor Horsfall led all players with 31 digs on the afternoon, and Maddie Rhoder chipped in a team-high 10 kills for Tulsa.
 
SMU 3, UConn 0 (25-10, 25-21, 26-24)
 
SMU (13-5, 6-2) picked up its sixth victory in a row by racing past UConn (8-12, 2-6) in three sets on Sunday in Dallas, taking a 25-10, 25-21, 26-24 triumph.
 
Mekenzi Heckmann’s 12 kills and .579 hitting percentage guided SMU in the win, and Montana Watts added a team-high 11 digs. Lily Heim led all players with 37 assists on the day.
 
Caylee Parker paced UConn with a match-high 14 kills in the defeat, as Courtney Morris added 21 assists for the Huskies.
 
East Carolina 3, Tulane 2 (14-25, 23-25, 25-17, 29-27, 15-8)
 
East Carolina (15-6, 3-5) shook off a slow start on Sunday in New Orleans, winning the final three sets to stun host Tulane (15-6, 5-3) 14-25, 23-25, 25-17, 29-27, 15-8).
 
Sydney Kleinman led ECU with 20 kills along with eight digs in the win, as Bri Wood fashioned a double-double of 12 kills and 13 digs. Brandee Markwith led the Pirates with 19 digs in the contest.
 
Lexie Douglas finished with 16 kills and nine digs for Tulane, while Kaylie McHugh chipped in 25 digs in defeat. Taylor Henigsman recorded 31 assists in the loss for the Green Wave.
 
Memphis 3, Temple 0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20)
 
Memphis (13-7, 2-6) picked up its second straight win in conference play with a Sunday sweep of Temple (10-9, 1-7) that closed with 25-17, 25-18, 25-20 scores.
 
Hannah Flowers hit at a .824 clip for the match with a team-high 14 kills, with her hitting percentage the second-most in an American Athletic Conference match this season. Kaitlyn Gehler chipped in a team-high 16 digs, and Sabrina Bianco added 43 assists and eight digs.
 
Gem Grimshaw registered a team-high eight kills in defeat for Temple, and Peyton Boyd added seven kills and two blocks for the Owls.
 
Wichita State 3, USF 0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-23)
 
Wichita State (5-15, 2-6) picked up a home conference sweep by taking down USF (7-15, 1-7) in straight sets on Sunday, 25-10, 25-19, 25-23.
 
Megan Taflinger led Wichita State with 17 kills and a .432 hitting percentage, as Arianna Arjomand paced the Shockers with 14 digs. Kayce Litzau racked up 16 assists and nine digs.
 
Lindsey Pliapol had a team-high 14 kills and 17 digs for USF, while Jac’cara Walker finished with eight kills and eight digs. CC Clausen chipped in 14 digs for the Bulls.
