Highlights
-USF swept the men’s and women’s races at the USF Invitational on Saturday morning in Tampa, Florida. Alexandra Weir logged a victorious run of 18:42.78 in the women’s 5K to pace the Bulls, with Annie Allmark claiming third with a time of 19:34.56 and Alivia Bienz fourth in 19:38.95. Alec Latzke guided the USF men with a third-place finish (16:18.27) in the 5K, while Ben Kailes chipped in a fourth-place showing in 16:23.17.
-Both Cincinnati and Memphis traveled to Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday to compete in the Louisville Cross Country Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park. Memphis placed eighth in the Men’s Gold 8K and 10th in the Women’s Gold 5K, while Cincinnati placed seventh in the Men’s Blue 8K and 11th in the Women’s Gold 5K. Zachary Wyatt paced the Memphis men’s team with a 27th-place finish in the 8K (24:21.2), while Paige Sandwell led the way in 55th place with a time of 17:59.9 in the women’s 5K. Christian Stevens guided the Cincinnati men’s squad with a finish of 38th in the 8K (25:30.2), and Maddie Walker added a similar 38th-place result in the 5K with a time of 17:47.2.
-UConn, East Carolina and Temple all sent men’s entries to the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, with the UConn and ECU women’s teams also taking part in the meet. UConn placed 29th in the Men’s College Gold 8K and 24th in the Women’s College Gold 6K; East Carolina finished 33rd in the men’s 8K and 25th in the women’s 6K; and Temple claimed 38th place in the men’s 8K. Danielle Jordan was the top individual runner for UConn with an 18th-place result in the women’s 6K (21:38.8), with Jeremy Bronstein placing 38th with a time of 25:05.1 in the men’s 8K. Joshua Spare paced ECU in the men’s 8K with a time of 24:16.7 for 58th place, and Nuria Tillo-Prats crossed the finish line in the women’s 6K in 21:08.3 for 85th place representing the Pirates. Anton Harrsen logged a time of 24:38.2 to lead Temple in the men’s 8K.
-Tulsa claimed a fifth-place finish at the 31st Annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival on Saturday at Agri Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Golden Hurricane bested 21 other teams in the women’s 5K to claim the top-five result. Caitlin Klopfer led Tulsa in ninth place after crossing the finish line in 16:57.2, while Caroline Miller clocked a finish of 18th place in 17:15.8.
