KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Memphis defender Stasia Mallin has been named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, the most coveted individual honor in NCAA Division I soccer.
Three finalists will be named for the award on Friday, Dec. 6 in conjunction with the Women’s College Cup in San Jose, Calif. The 2019 MAC Hermann Trophy banquet will be held at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis on Jan. 3, 2020 to formally announce this year’s winners.
Mallin finished her senior season with career highs in goals (3) and assists (14) and posted two game-winning goals. Mallin earned All-American Athletic Conference First Team honors at the end of the regular season and was also named to the 2019 AAC All-Tournament team.
Her 14 assists currently rank fourth nationally and rank second in Memphis single-season history. Her 29 career assists claimed The American record for career assists, while also ranking third in program history.
From the backline, Mallin helped the Tigers post 12 shutouts throughout the year, which rank tied for third-most in single-season history. She also claimed the league's Defensive Player of the Week honor three times this season and five times throughout her career.
