Highlights:
ECU southpaw Jake Kuchmaner stole The American’s baseball spotlight once again, registering the 28th perfect game in NCAA Division I history against Maryland in a 3-0 win, as the Pirates completed a three-game series sweep of the Terrapins Sunday. UConn and USF also completed series sweeps, while UCF, Memphis and Tulane each clinched a series with rubber-match wins. Wichita State evened its four-game weekend series against Rhode Island with a 5-1 victory.
 
UConn 6, Michigan State 1
UConn swept its first four-game series in program history with a 6-1 rout of Michigan State in Greenville, S.C. Colby Dunlop, Chase Gardner, Karl Johnson and Jake Wallace made appearances out of the bullpen and combined to allow just one hit while striking out six. The UConn bullpen allowed one run in 16.1 innings in the four-game series. Mike Woodworth led the way at the plate with a 3-for-4 day, blasting a solo shot over the left field wall. Anthony Prato recorded his sixth multi-hit game of the season and stole two bases, extending his reach-base streak to 23 games dating back to 2018.
 
USF 4, Dartmouth 1
Trailing in the seventh inning, USF scored all of its runs and held on for a 4-1 win over Dartmouth to secure its second series sweep of the year. Austin Bodrato ended the four-game series with eight RBIs. Noah Yager struck out six over the final 5.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit.
 
UCF 8, VCU 2
Trevor Holloway fired seven shutout innings in an 8-2 win over VCU to clinch its weekend series at home. The righty struck out a career-high seven batters, while setting a career-low with no walks issued. He retired the side in order four times in the first, third, fourth and seventh innings. Ray Alejo, Tyler Osik, Matthew Mika and Dallas Beaver combined for six of the 11 hits with five RBI and six runs scored. Osik extended his hitting streak to a season-long seven games and on-base streak to 18 games.
 
Niagara 8, Cincinnati 7
Cincinnati dropped an 8-7 decision to Niagara to close out an eight-game homestand. Wyatt Stapp, Cole Murphy and Jeremy Johnson each had two hits. The Bearcats had a five-run surge in the sixth inning to take the lead but gave up two in the eighth. Cincinnati travels to Wright State on Tuesday then starts conference play at USF next weekend.
 
Memphis 7, UNCW 4
Early offense proved to be the difference Sunday as Memphis claimed its weekend series with a 7-4 win against UNC Wilmington in a three-game finale. The Tigers have claimed victories in eight of its last 10 games. Sunday also marked three-straight series wins for Memphis. The Tigers plated six runs through the first two innings. Freshman Hunter Goodman enjoyed a 2-for-4 day with four RBIs, driving in the Tigers' first four runs.
 
Wichita State 5, Rhode Island 1
Wichita State earned a 5-1 victory over Rhode Island in the series finale of a four-game set. Lefties Cal Carver and Alex Segal teamed up to toss nine innings of one-run baseball. Carver went a season-best 6.1 innings and gave up just one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts and a pair of walks. Segal secured his second save of the year after throwing 2.2 scoreless innings in relief with a strikeout. David VanVooren paced Wichita State at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, while Luke Ritter added a 2-of-4 showing with two RBIs and a double. Freshman Brady Slavens also tallied a pair of hits in the contest and scored a run. Ritter has now reached base safely in 31 consecutive games dating back to 2018.
 
ECU 3, Maryland 0
For the second time this weekend, ECU shutout Maryland 3-0 to complete the three-game series sweep behind a perfect-game performance from starter Kuchmaner. Kuchmaner, last week’s National Pitcher of the Week after coming one out away from a no-hitter against No. 10 Ole Miss, tossed 9.0 shutout frames, allowing no hits, runs or walks. He retired all 27 batters he faced on the afternoon recording eight strikeouts, 10 fly outs and nine ground outs in his perfect outing. The lefty fanned at least one batter in seven frames. On the afternoon, ECU tallied eight hits getting two each from Spencer Brickhouse and Turner Brown.
 
Dallas Baptist 8, Houston 4
Houston dropped its series finale against Dallas Baptist, 8-4, ending a six-game winning streak. Davis (three-run) and Kobe Hyland (solo) each homered in the sixth inning as part of 1-for-4 efforts. Lael Lockhart Jr. finished 2-for-3 with one double and one run scored. Triolo also collected two hits with a double and run scored to highlight a 2-for-4 showing.
 
Tulane 10, UC Riverside 0
Starting pitcher Chase Solesky was perfect through 5.2 innings and struck out a career-high 11 batters, while the Tulane offense pounded out 10 runs on 13 hits to earn a 10-0 victory over UC Riverside to claim the series. Solesky struck out the first seven batters, retiring 14-consecutive Highlanders through a seven-inning outing. Frankie Niemann continued his solid pace at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Niemann hit his first-career home run in the win. The team also got multiple hits from Collin Burns, Kody Hoese, Hudson Haskin and Jonathon Artigues.
