Memphis 7, UConn 1
Memphis struck for five runs in the first three innings on the way to a 7-1 win at UConn to even the weekend series. The Tigers registered six scoreless frames on the mound to force a rubber game on Sunday. The series finale is slated for 11 a.m. ET. Memphis rookie Hunter Goodman enjoyed a 4-for-5 day with three RBIs and three runs scored. The freshman also added his fifth home run of the year. Payton Marshall, Nick Vaage and Cale Hennemann added multiple-hit efforts with two hits apiece. Marshall and Hennemann each also posted an RBI. On the mound, Alex Hicks improved his season record to 3-2 after he scattered five hits across seven innings and struck out five. The Huskies were held to five hits, as Paul Gozzo registered the only UConn run of the day with a solo homer in the seventh inning.
Houston 7, Wichita State 3
Houston extended its winning streak to three games, defeating Wichita State 7-3 at Eck Stadium Saturday afternoon to clinch its first American series of the season. The Cougars jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs through the first four innings. Kyle Lovelace led seven Cougars who tallied at least one hit and tied his career high with three base knocks. He finished 3-for-4 with one RBI. Tyler Bielamowicz, Rey Fuentes III and Brad Burckel each turned in 2-for-4 efforts for the Cougars.
Houston starter Clay Aguilar picked up his third win of the season after tossing 5.1 innings, recording seven punch outs and walking one. On the mound for the Shockers, starter Liam Eddy pitched 7. 2 innings but gave but six runs and 10 hits and took the loss. Ross Cadena and Jack Sigrist each had two hits and an RBI for Wichita State. The series finale is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
Tulane 20, USF 11
Tulane exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and got six more in the seventh to claim the series with a victory against USF in a 20-11 slugfest Saturday afternoon at Turchin Stadium. The Green Wave clinched its third American series and fifth-straight win, remaining in second place in league standings with a 6-2 conference record. Tulane scored 13 runs with two outs, as the Green Wave totaled 20 runs on 16 hits, including five doubles and three home runs.
Trevor Jensen was one of five Tulane players to earn multiple hits in the win, recording six RBIs and a home run. Luke Glancy drove in four for the second time this week, going 2-for-5 with a home run. Kody Hoese's only hit helped him extend his nation-leading home runs total to 19. The top of the order for USF in Kyle Phillips, Jake Sullivan and Jordan Santos combined for nine of the visitors' 14 hits, as Phillips and Joe Genord each drove in three.
Tulane starter Keagan Gillies pitched five innings and struck out a season-high eight USF batters, allowing four runs on seven hits to earn the win. The two teams close out the series Sunday with a 2 p.m. ET first pitch.
Cincinnati 8, UCF 3 | Cincinnati 7, UCF 6
After being shut out by UCF a day ago, Cincinnati bounced back and swept a doubleheader against the Knights on Saturday to win its third conference series of the season. The Bearcats took the first game 8-3 behind a twelve-strikeout performance from Evan Shawver then walked off in the second game thanks to a two-run home run off the bat of Joey Wiemer. The Bearcats took the sole third-place spot in American standings with a 7-5 league record.
Shawver had a terrific start, going 7.0 strong innings with a career-high 12 strikeouts. He allowed two runs on three hits while walking two. Joey Bellini had a big game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Griffin Merritt was also 3-for-4 with two runs scored. The Bearcats posted a big six-run inning to take a lead they would not relinquish. Cincinnati’s pitching staff held UCF to four hits in the game.
Bellini had another big outing in Game 2 of the doubleheader with two more hits and two runs scored.
Wyatt Stapp and Joey Wiemer also had two hits and each scored a run. Chase Stewart threw 3.0 solid frames out of the bullpen with no runs, one hit, one walk and two strikeouts.
Dalton Wingo went 3-for-5 to lead UCF at the dish. Garrett Westberg (1.2 IP) and Jeffrey Hakanson (2.0 IP) both posted four strikeouts through solid innings in relief out of the bullpen for the Knights. Trailing 6-5 in the ninth inning, Wiemer sent his second hit of the game over the left-field wall to hand the Bearcats the victory.

Top-ranked UCLA completed a series sweep of No. 8 ECU Saturday taking both games of the doubleheader 8-5 and 3-0 at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
After hitting the game-winning home run Friday night, UCLA’s Michael Toglia hit his second homer of the series in the first game of the doubleheader, belting a three-run shot off of ECU southpaw Alec Burleson in the ninth for an 8-5 walk-off win to secure a series victory. ECU knotted the game at five all in the seventh inning on Turner Brown's RBI double to left center. Brown led the Pirates offense going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Zach Barnes worked two clean frames in relief for the Pirates.
In the series finale, UCLA’s Ryan Garcia (4-0) earned the win after striking out a career-high 13 batters in the night cap where he scattered three hits over seven frames. Burleson and Bryant Packard each tallied two hits accounting for all four of the Pirates’ base knocks.
