Cincinnati used a four-run sixth inning to push past No. 22 UConn in a 10-4 victory at Dunkin’ Donuts Park Sunday, clinching a key road series. The Bearcats were led by Wyatt Stapp who had a 4-for-5 performance with three RBIs. Three arms out of the Bearcats’ bullpen combined for 5.2 innings of work, scattering four hits, four walks and one run. Five players enjoyed a multi-hit outing, as Cincinnati led 14-11 in hits. Pat Winkel hit two solo home runs to lead UConn at the plate. UConn starter Jimmy Wang struck out seven through 4.2 innings but gave up three runs on six hits. CJ Dandeneau struck out four and scattered a hit and a walk through his 2.2-inning outing for the Huskies.

Despite splitting Sunday’s action, UCF clinched the weekend series, completing a 5-0 win from Saturday’s suspended game. USF bounced back in Game 3, winning the series finale 6-3.
UCF starter Chris Williams tossed 6.1 innings before the lightning struck on Saturday, scattering four hits and punching out six batters. Garrett Westberg finished the game Sunday, tossing the final 2.2 innings. He struck out five, while giving up only one hit and three walks. The Knights scored four runs through the first three frames. Dallas Beaver and Dalton Wingo both had two hits. Wingo finished the game with two RBIs. Logan Lyle had a solid outing in the final 4.0 shutout innings in relief for the Bulls, giving up just two hits, while fanning a pair of batters.
Down by two runs in the second inning of the series finale, USF rallied for four runs through the next three frames to take the lead for good. Joe Genord had a 3-for-5 game, capped by a two-run homer in the seventh inning. Noah Yager picked up the win in relief, throwing 4.0 scoreless innings, while surrendering only three hits and a walk. He finished his outing with two strikeouts. Nelson Alvarez tossed a clean ninth inning to earn his fifth save of the year. On the home side, Ray Alejo and Adams Torres each had two hits.
