ATLANTA – Cory Kamerschak, assistant director of video and creative services at the American Athletic Conference, was honored at the Sports Video Group Summit on Thursday evening, May 30, at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. Kamerschak’s American Men’s Basketball Championship Documentary Trailer took top honors for the Outstanding Promotional Videos, Hype, Open, Tease, PSA or Marketing Campaign award in the Collegiate Conferences and Governing Bodies division.
The documentary followed a player from each of The American’s 12 teams at the 2019 Air Force Reserve Men’s Basketball Championship in Memphis in March.
Finalists were determined by SVG and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) with winners selected by a panel of judges. More than 400 entries were submitted for consideration in five categories across four divisions.
Kamerschak joined The American in the summer of 2018. His main focus is in video production for the American Digital Network. Previously, he worked as a production assistant at ESPN as well as a sports reporter and producer for Cronkite News KAET-TV in Phoenix and the station’s Los Angeles affiliate. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Kamerschak holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bellevue University and a Master of Arts degree from Arizona State.
