PHILADELPHIA - Quarterback Anthony Russo threw for 409 yards with four touchdowns as Temple set a school record with 695 yards of offense in a 56-12 win against Bucknell Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

The win was the first victory at Temple for new head coach Rod Carey.

Jager Gardner rushed for two touchdowns, while five players had touchdown receptions for the Owls who built a 28-0 lead by scoring on their first four possessions. Temple had two players - Jadan Blue and Branden Mack - finish with at least 100 receiving yards as Blue had 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, while Mack had nine catches for a game-high 130 yards.

The Owl defense did its part, holding Bucknell without an offensive touchdown. The Bison scored their points on an interception return and two field goals, closing to within 35-12 in the third quarter before Russo made it a 30-point game with his 10-yard TD pass to Aaron Jarman with 6:11 left.

Todd Centeio finished the game at quarterback as Temple set a school record with 507 passing yards. Russo, meanwhile, became the first player in program history to register two 400-yard games in a career.
