IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 12th week of the 2020 season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Desmond Ridder • Cincinnati • Jr. • QB • Louisville Ky.
Ridder was responsible for four touchdowns and had 395 yards of total offense to help Cincinnati remain unbeaten with a 36-33 win at UCF, which had won 23 of its last 24 home games. Ridder completed 21 of 32 passes for a season-high 338 yards and two touchdowns and added 57 rushing yards with two TDs on the ground. Ridder, who leads the Bearcats with 16 touchdown passes and 11 rushing scores, has accounted for 21 touchdowns in the Bearcats’ last five games.
Davis Brin • Tulsa • So. • QB • Boerne, Texas
Brin, who was Tulsa’s third quarterback on the depth chart, entered last Thursday’s game against Tulane on the final series of the third quarter and with the Golden Hurricane facing a 14-0 deficit Brin responded by completing 18 of 28 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns, including the tying TD at the end of regulation, along with an 18-yard rushing touchdown as Tulsa rallied to win 30-24 in double overtime. After Tulsa was held scoreless through three quarters, Brin led Tulsa to four consecutive scoring drives in the win.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zaven Collins • Tulsa • Jr. • LB • Hominy, Okla.
Collins was also chosen as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in Tulsa’s 30-24 double-overtime win against Tulane, keeping the Golden Hurricane unbeaten in conference play. Collins ended the game with a 96-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second overtime period to cap a day in which he had a game-high 15 tackles. Collins, who registered the game-clinching interception for the second consecutive week, is tied for the American Athletic Conference lead with four picks in 2020.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Snead • East Carolina • So. • WR/KR • Raleigh, N.C.
Snead had 169 yards on special teams as part of a day in which he had 244 all-purpose yards in a 28-3 win at Temple. He had a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to answer Temple’s only score of the game and finished with 111 yards on kickoff returns. He added 58 yards on five punt returns and had three receptions for 75 yards and a TD as well

Had a game- and career-high 16 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups in a 36-33 loss to No. 7 Cincinnati.

Scored 12 points, making field goals of 47, 26 and 22 yards and going 3-for-3 on PATs in a 36-33 win at UCF

Had 290 all-purpose yards in a 56-14 win against Stephen F. Austin. Had 10 catches for 173 yards and 117 yards on eight punt returns, including a 64-yard touchdown.

Had eight receptions for a career-high 138 yards and the tying touchdown to force overtime in a 30-24 double-OT win against Tulane.
