IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the third week of the 2020-21 season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
David Collins, Sr., Guard, USF
Collins averaged a double-double with 15.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in a pair of wins for the Bulls last week. He led USF with 18 points and nine rebounds against Stetson on Dec. 8 and 13 points and 11 rebounds against Wofford on Dec. 12 in Holiday Hoopsgiving in Atlanta.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Moussa Cisse, Center, Memphis
Cisse averaged a double-double with 11.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in two contests for the Tigers. The freshman center scored 14 points against Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 8 and recorded nine points and 14 rebounds against Auburn on Dec. 12 in Atlanta.
HONOR ROLL
David DeJulius, Jr., Guard, Cincinnati
DeJulius averaged 9.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a pair of games for the Bearcats. The junior guard recorded 11 points and seven assists against No. 12 Tennessee on Saturday (Dec. 12).
JJ Miles, Sr., Guard, East Carolina
Miles averaged 19.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in two wins for the Pirates. The senior guard was 9-of-10 from 3-point range.
D.J. Jeffries, So., Forward, Memphis
Jeffries averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week for the Tigers. Against Auburn, the sophomore forward recorded 16 points and seven rebounds.
Jordan Walker, R-Jr., Guard, Tulane
Walker averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 assists, 2.0 steals per game in a pair of wins for the Green Wave. The redshirt junior guard had 15 points in each game and shot 50.0 percent from the field for the week.
Tyson Etienne, So., Guard, Wichita State
Etienne scored 19 points with three 3-pointers for the Shockers against Oklahoma State on Saturday (Dec. 12).
