UCF Sweeps Men's Basketball Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the fourth week of the 2020-21 season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brandon Mahan, Sr., Guard, UCF
Mahan led the Knights with a career-high 32 points, including 24 in the second, in an 86-74 road win at then-No. 15 Florida State on Dec. 19. The senior guard was 10-of-13 from the field and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Mahan also added six rebounds and two assists.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Isaiah Adams, Forward, UCF
Adams registered a season-high 22 points against then-No. 15 Florida State on Dec. 19. In his first career start, the forward was 9-of-12 from the line, grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and added three steals and two assists.
 
HONOR ROLL
Quentin Grimes, Jr., Guard, Houston
Grimes posted a double-double with a season-high 27 points and 10 rebounds in an 88-55 win over Alcorn State on Dec. 20. Grimes hit four 3-pointers and added a pair of steals.
 
Lester Quinones, So., Guard, Memphis
Quinones led the Tigers with 20 points, six rebounds and three steals in an 80-74 conference win at Tulane on Dec. 16.
 
Alexis Yetna, Jr., Forward, USF
Yetna recorded his first double-double of the season and led the Bulls with 16 points, 12 rebounds and three assists in a 74-71 conference win at Cincinnati on Dec. 16.
 
Kendric Davis, Jr., Guard, SMU
Davis helped lead the Mustangs to a 70-55 conference win against East Carolina with 17 points, six assists and three rebounds on Dec. 16
 
Ricky Council IV, Fr., Guard, Wichita State
Council had a pair of 13-point, 8-rebound games in a 2-0 week for the Shockers, which included wins at Tulsa on Dec. 15 and against Emporia State on Dec. 18.
