IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced that the scheduled football game between Houston and SMU will not be played due to positive COVID-19 cases at SMU and the ensuing contact tracing of student-athletes.
 
The game was originally to be played Saturday, Nov. 21 and had been rescheduled to Saturday, Dec. 5 after it was initially postponed.
 
The American will consider a number of scheduling options with regard to the remainder of its 2020 schedule.
