UConn closed out the MLB4 Collegiate Baseball Tournament with a 7-1 victory against No. 8 Michigan on Sunday at Salt River Fields. After combining on five hits during the first two days of the tournament, the Huskies busted out for seven runs on nine hits including a big day from freshman 1B Reggie Crawford.
The Frackville, Pa. native delivered a two-out two run single in the sixth and followed it up with a bases-clearing double in the eighth. His five RBIs moved a 2-1 UConn lead to a 7-1 Huskies advantage.
USF 4, Marist 2 -

Carson Ragsdale's stellar performance helped USF win its first series of the season on Sunday afternoon. Head coach Billy Mohl's Bulls (2-1) scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the rubber match, 4-2, at USF Baseball Stadium.
Ragsdale was solid in his first start on the mound since returning from Tommy John surgery. Ragsdale held the Red Foxes scoreless through five frames before allowing one run, finishing with 10 strikeouts in six innings. Nick Gonzales came up big for the Bulls in the bottom of the fourth, hitting a two-run double to left-center, scoring Dylan Buck and Julio Cortez.
UCF 10, Siena 2 -

UCF completed the four-game series sweep of Siena on Sunday at John Euliano Park with a 10-2 victory in game four. Three Knights pitchers teamed up to collect 18 strikeouts while only allowing a single earned run. Joe Sheridan made his return to the mound for the first time since the end of the 2018 campaign, tossing 4.0 innings and allowed just two hits.
Entering the game in the fifth inning, Jack Sinclair wasted no time leaving his mark on the game. He struck out the side in three straight innings, allowing just a single hit during that time. Sinclair finished the game with 10 strikeouts over 4.0 innings and gave up the lone hit.
Gephry Pena got the Knights offense rolling with a solo shot in the third inning, and the Black and Gold never looked back. Following a two-bagger by Jordan Rathbone, Nick Romano drove in his first RBI as a Knight on a single to center field. Andrew Brait got in on the action, driving in two more runs to cap off a sixth run inning which ultimately sealed the victory for UCF.
ECU 7, William & Mary 4 -

Thomas Francisco and Connor Norby each drove in a pair of runs, while the Pirates' pitching staff struck out 17 batters in No. 19 East Carolina's 7-4 win over William & Mary Sunday afternoon at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium. With the win, the Pirates open the 2020 season with a series sweep of the Tribe their third in the last four seasons.
Jake Kuchmaner, who was on a predetermined pitch count, earned the win tossing two scoreless frames where he allowed a walk and struck out two. Cam Colmore earned his first career save tossing a perfect ninth inning with one strikeout.
Tulane 6, FGCU 1 -

Freshman Ethan Groff earned his first collegiate hit with a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Tulane baseball team a lead it would not relinquish as the Green Wave earned a sweep of Florida Gulf Coast with a 6-1 victory Sunday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Tulane (3-0) produced just six hits in the game, but it was enough to get the job done as the team struck first and last to get past the one run the Eagles (0-3) managed over the course of the game to earn an opening-series sweep for the second consecutive season.
Donovan Benoit (1-0) led a pitching staff that held FGCU to just three hits in the game, as the junior earned the win allowing a run on two hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Luke Jannetta gave up the only other hit, but did so in his first Tulane outing in two innings of work with a strikeout.
Kennesaw State 11, Cincinnati 7 -

Cincinnati completed the Atlanta Challenge on Sunday afternoon with an 11-7 loss at Kennesaw State. Wyatt Stapp and Eric Santiago both had two-hit days and both scored a run, while Joey Bellini led with three RBI.
Dondrae Bremner got his 2020 season started with a homerun. Joey Wiemer and Jeremy Johnson each had a double while Johnson matched Bellini with three RBI. Drake Batcho did not allow an earned run in the start. He threw 4.0 innings with four hits, three runs, two walks and two strikeouts.
Xavier 9, Memphis 6 -

Memphis fell short in its weekend finale against Xavier, dropping a 9-6 decision at FedExPark on Sunday afternoon. Memphis held a 7-6 advantage through six, but a pair of runs in the seventh and a pair of runs in the eighth claimed the Opening Weekend series for the Musketeers.
Offensively, the Tigers found multiple-hit days from Hunter Goodman, Alec Trela and Austin Baskin. Baskin also tallied his first two collegiate RBI, while Goodman, Trela and Ben Brooks each drove in a run.
Northwestern State 3, Wichita State 2 -

Senior right-hander Preston Snavely struck out a career-best 11 batters, but Wichita State fell to the Northwestern State Demons, 3-2, in the series finale of a three-game series Sunday, Feb. 16, at Brown-Stroud Field.
Snavely (0-1), a native of Fort Collins, Colo., went 6 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits with just one walk while surpassing his old career strikeout tally of eight with 11 Ks, but took the loss on the mound after putting the go-ahead run on-base before exiting the game in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Freshman Couper Cornblum went 1-for-2 at the plate and hit his first collegiate home run -- a solo shot in the top of the third inning -- leading the Shockers offensively. Jack Sigrist and Hunter Gibson each added a pair of hits, and Ross Cadena had an RBI single, respectively.
Youngstown State 8, Houston 6 (10 innings) -

Houston (1-2) fell to Youngstown State, 8-6, in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon at Sanders Field at Schroeder Park. For the second straight game, a home run opened the scoring. In the bottom of the first inning, senior first baseman Ryan Hernandez belted a two-run home run to left field. Senior center fielder Tyler Bielamowicz, who walked one batter earlier and stole second base, scored on the play.
The Cougars recorded a four-run third. Sophomore second baseman Brad Burckel opened the bottom frame with a single and stole second base. After a walk and fielder's choice put runners at the corners, senior designated hitter Lael Lockhart Jr. delivered Buckel with a squeeze bunt. Later with two outs, senior right fielder Steven Rivas hit a three-run homer to right field for a 6-1 lead.
After scoring four in the ninth, the Penguins scored two runs on a bases-loaded single in the 10th to take the series.
