UConn (6-5) swept a doubleheader at Presbyterian (2-12), 20-1 and 7-1, on Saturday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.

UConn pitchers combined to throw 18.0 innings, allowing just seven hits, two runs and struck out 30 batters. Junior RHP Nick Krauth (4-0) set the tone with seven shutout innings in game one, allowing just one hit and struck out six.

The UConn bats supported Krauth with a season-high 20 runs on a season-high 16 hits. The Huskies scored 16 of its 20 runs in the final three frames including a season-high 10 runs in the eighth inning.

Kyler Fedko highlighted the scoring by hitting a pair of three-run homers. Erik Stock, Zach Bushling and Reggie Crawford all recorded three-hit games while Chris Winkel and K. Fedko notched multi-hit efforts.

Cincinnati 13, Eastern Michigan 6 - Box Score
Cincinnati nearly no-hit Eastern Michigan in game one then posted two big offensive innings in game two to sweep a doubleheader on Saturday.
 
Evan Shawver had the best outing of his career, no-hitting the Eagles through 8.1 innings and tied his career-high with 12 strikeouts in the effort to start the day. EMU's first base runner came on a leadoff walk in the sixth, but Shawver followed with a strikeout and two groundouts. The leadoff batter also reached in the eighth on an error. Shawver responded with a groundout, strikeout and flyout. In the ninth, the lefty got a strikeout on three pitches to stay dominant. A walk and base hit followed to break up the no-hitter. However, Shawver faced one more batter, striking him out for his 12th of the day.

Eastern Michigan was able to take the lead in game two, but a big seven-run inning put the Bearcats in front. Then a four-run frame followed that included three homeruns and a triple.

Wichita State 5, Louisiana Tech 3 - Box Score
Wichita State secured a series win and built its winning streak to 11 games with a 5-3 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Saturday, March 7, at Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field. Wichita State continued its longest winning streak since winning 19 in-a-row in 2008 with the triumph Saturday
  
Junior outfielder Hunter Gibson hit his first home run of the season and drove in a pair of runs, while senior Alex Jackson and freshman Blake Marsh both compiled doubles, leading Wichita State at the plate.
 
WSU reliever Aaron Bechtel (2-0) earned the victory on the mound after surrendering no earned runs on no hits with two strikeouts and a walk in two innings, while closer Foster Gifford picked up his fourth save of 2020 after tossing a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout.

Tulane 7, Southern 0 - Box Score
Tulane starting pitcher Jack Aldrich mowed down nine batters in six innings of work and the Green Wave offense came alive late to earn a 7-0 win over the Southern Jaguars to claim the series at Lee Hines Field in Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon.
 
Holding just a 2-0 lead since the second inning, Tulane (12-2) came alive offensively in the seventh and plated five runs on four hits to extend the lead for good and leave the game for the pitching staff to finish in a strong way, earning the team's third shutout of the year.
 
Aldrich (2-0) stifled the Southern (6-8) batters through much of his six innings of work Saturday, retiring the first 10 batters he saw in the game and finishing with a career-best nine strikeouts, while allowing three hits with one walk. Luke Jannetta (1) continued his torrid start, earning the save by pitching the final three innings where he struck out four and walked zero.

No. 22 ECU 15, Charlotte 5 - Box Score
For the second-straight day No. 22 East Carolina set new season-highs in runs (15) and hits (18) as it claimed a series win at Charlotte following a 15-5 victory Saturday afternoon at Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium. With the win the Pirates improve to 11-3 on the season, while the 49ers drop to 8-7.
 
Leading from the outset, ECU didn't waste any time in getting on the board scoring a pair of runs in the first frame for a 2-0 lead. With two outs, Alec Burleson laced one of his four hits in the game (single) through the left side and came around to score on Seth Caddell's first home run of the season, a moon-shot over the left-center field wall.
 
Tyler Smith (2-1) earned the win allowing one run (earned) over five full frames where he walked two and struck out seven – one shy of his career-high.

Memphis 6, UNCW 1 - Box Score
Another standout day on the mound coupled with strong offense led to a 6-1 Memphis win against UNCW Saturday afternoon at Brooks Field. With the victory, the Tigers claimed their third straight series and improved to 10-4 on the season.
 
After senior Danny Denz posted a career day in the series opener, junior Carson Stinnett continued the momentum for the staff to earn his first win of the year. The Oxford, Miss., native tossed a career-high 7.1 innings, allowing one unearned run while striking out three Seahawks batters.
 
Braden Webb led the Tigers offensively with a pair of hits and three RBI. Defensively, Webb also ended the fifth inning with a grab at the wall to keep momentum away from the home side. He also turned a would-be single into a force out at third base with UNCW threatening in the ninth inning.

No. 14 UCF 4, Butler 0 - Box Score
The No. 14 Knights made it five wins in a row on Saturday night as they clinched the series victory against Butler in a 4-0 ballgame. The victory marked the fifth win in a row for the Black and Gold, and the fourth series victory in a row to begin the 2020 campaign.

UCF struggled to get the bats going the first time through the batting order, but Ben McCabe got the Knights on the board in the fifth inning. McCabe lined a shot over the Butler right fielder with two on, scoring both runners and giving UCF a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Jordan Rathbone tacked on an insurance run in the sixth, driving in leadoff man Gephry Pena on a one out double, his fourth of the year. The Black and Gold picked up another run in the eighth to extend the lead to four on a Connor Allen single.

Maintaining dominance on the mound, the UCF pitching staff tossed their third shutout of the season. Trevor Holloway got the starting nod and would fan a career high 10 batters on his way to throwing 6.2 innings without allowing a run.

Houston 3, No. 25 Arizona 1 - Box Score
Houston evened the series against No. 25 Arizona with a 3-1 victory on Saturday at Hi Corbett Field. The Cougars improved to 5-8, while Arizona dropped to 9-5.

Ryan Hernandez doubled and scored a run, finishing 2-for-3 at the plate. Brad Burckel was 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a run scored. Left-hander Clay Aguilar (2-0) earned the win, allowing one run on eight hits. The senior recorded two strikeouts and walked five on 96 pitches. Derrick Cherry picked up his second save of the season, tossing the final 2.1 innings without allowing a run. He struck out two and gave up two hits on 25 pitches.

No. 1 Florida 15, USF 5 - Box Score
USF fell to No. 1 Florida on the road Saturday, 15-5. The Bulls (5-9) fell behind early to the No. 1 Gators (15-0), 1-0, in the first. Florida then plated three runs in the second and one run in the third to lead, 5-0. No. 1 Florida was able to extend their lead to 13 in the bottom of the sixth. The Gators would score two in the eighth.

The Bulls were able to get on the board in the top of the seventh inning. After Jordan Santos would draw a leadoff walk. Nick Gonzalez would give the Bulls their first hit of the game with a single to center. Riley Hogan would drive a double down the right field line scoring, Santos for the Bulls' first run. Gonzalez would come around to score for the second run of the inning on a wild pitch. Carmine Lane would send a ball to deep center to score Hogan for the third run.
