Trailing 3-1 entering the ninth inning, UConn (7-5) rallied for three runs in their final at bat to stun Presbyterian, 4-3, and sweep the three-game series from the Blue Hose (2-13).
Reggie Crawford got the rally going with a one-out single and Kyler Fedko followed with a fly ball that nearly tied the game but banged up against the left field fence for an RBI double. After a well-earned walk by Paul Gozzo, a wild pitch advanced the tying run and potential go-ahead run into scoring position.
Senior captain Chris Winkel came through with a high chopper to second that brought home Kyler Fedko to tie the game, 3-3. Moments later the Huskies took their first lead of the day on a wild pitch to bring in Gozzo. Caleb Wurster (1-0) earned the win by throwing two scoreless innings out of the pen.
No. 22 ECU 4, Charlotte 1 -

Alec Burleson and Lane Hoover each recorded a pair of hits, while Jake Kuchmaner allowed one run over five innings helping No. 22 East Carolina to a 4-1 series sweep over Charlotte Sunday afternoon at Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium. With the win the Pirates improve to 12-3 on the season and the 49ers drop to 8-8. The victory was also head coach Cliff Godwin's 213th of his career passing his college coach and ECU Hall of Famer Keith LeClair for third place on the Pirates' all-time wins list.
With the game knotted at one-all after three innings, the Pirates plated the go-ahead run in the fourth for a 2-1 lead. Bryson Worrell doubled to right-center to lead off the frame and took third on Ben Newton's sac bunt back to the pitcher. Connor Norby followed with a base knock to left field easily pushing across Worrell for the would-be game-winner.
Kuchmaner (4-0) earned the win surrendering one run (earned) on five this with a pair of walks and five strikeouts in five-plus innings of work. Matt Bridges notched his second save of the season tossing 2.2 scoreless frames where he gave up two hits and struck out three.
Cincinnati 14, Eastern Michigan 2 -

Cincinnati got a great start on the mound and continued its hot hitting to sweep Eastern Michigan with a 14-2 victory on Sunday.
Drake Batcho struck out a career-high nine batters through 6.0 scoreless innings. He gave up just two hits, and both of those came with two outs in the sixth frame. Meanwhile, the offense remained explosive with 15 hits and big nine-run inning.
Joey Wiemer went 3-for-5 at the plate with a double and two RBI. Eric Santiago was 2-for-3 with a homerun, two RBI and three runs scored.
UCF 4, Butler 1 -

The No. 14 Knights swept their series with Butler with a 4-1 victory at John Euliano Park on Sunday afternoon. UCF has now won six straight contests and picked up their third weekend series sweep in the victory.
Dalton Wingo put the Knights on top early, driving in the speedy Gephry Pena in the first inning. With an first inning lead, lefty starter Joe Sheridan was able to settle in early and toss a gem. Sheridan held the Bulldogs hitless through three innings and kept them scoreless into the sixth inning where they picked up their only run of the game.
In the second inning, freshman Matt Archer drove in the other three UCF runs with one swing of the bat. The infielder's dinger was his first home run as a Knight, and brings his RBI total to 10 on the year.
Wichita State 10, Louisiana Tech 9 -

Derek Shaver hit a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to lift Wichita State to a 10-9, walk-off victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in the series finale of a three-game series Sunday, March 8, at Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field. The Shockers (13-2) extended their winning streak to 12 games with the win and secured a series sweep of Louisiana Tech (10-6).
After the Bulldogs rallied all the way back from an eight-run deficit and gained a 9-8 lead with two runs in the top of the eighth, Wichita State mounted a last-minute comeback of its own in the ninth.
Hunter Gibson crossed home plate for the game-tying run on a Ross Cadena single to left field, before Cooper Elliot, who entered the game as a pinch-runner, advanced to third on a wild pitch, before sprinting home on Shaver's fly-ball to left field for the game-winning run.
Cadena led the Shockers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Blake Marsh added a pair of hits, and Shaver drove in a game-high four runs. Gibson added his second home run of the season, while David VanVooren posted a triple, and Jack Sigrist and Couper Cornblum both had doubles, respectively.
No. 23 Tulane 10, Southern 2 -

The No. 23 Tulane baseball team enjoyed a strong offensive display as starting pitcher Donovan Benoit hurled six innings while striking out nine batters to guide the Wave to a seventh consecutive victory, clinching the weekend sweep by a score of 10-2 over the Southern University Jaguars at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium on Sunday.
Tulane (13-2) scored in all but one of the first seven innings, including a stretch of seven unanswered runs after Southern (6-9) tied the game in the second inning. The Green Wave dominated the Jaguars all weekend, ending the series with 33 runs scored, compared to four for Southern.
Benoit (2-0) found himself in trouble early, surrendering four hits and two runs in the first two innings before settling in. The right-hander cruised through the next four innings allowing just a single hit. Justin Campbell relieved Benoit, striking out two hitters in his two flawless innings. Keagan Gillies came on for the final three outs, sending down the side in order.
Ty Johnson sparked Tulane's offense, collecting three hits and three RBI while finishing a double short of the cycle. Luis Aviles powered two separate RBI doubles and Hudson Haskin reached base in four plate appearances to headline Tulane's thirteen hits and 10 runs.
UNCW 4, Memphis 3 -

A ninth-inning rally fell short on Sunday afternoon at Brooks Field as Memphis dropped a 4-3 decision in the series finale against UNCW.
Junior Ben Brooks collected his fifth multi-hit game of the season with a 3-for-5 performance. The junior also drove in the Tigers' first run of the day. Freshman Braden Webb continued his strong weekend with a 3-for-4 day with an RBI.
Trailing 4-1 in the final inning, freshman Austin Baskin and junior Chris Swanberg led off the frame with back-to-back singles. Webb trimmed the deficit to 4-2 with an RBI hit, and a wild pitch put the Tigers within a run. That would be as close as the Tigers could scratch as a pair of strikeouts ended the game.
No. 1 Florida 2, USF 1 -

The USF baseball team fell to No. 1 Florida in the series finale Sunday afternoon, 2-1. Carson Ragsdale kept the Bulls toe-to-toe with No. 1 Florida tossing another strong outing this season. The redshirt senior right-hander tied his career-high in strikeouts with 10 this afternoon. Ragsdale allowed two hits and one run through four innings.
The Bulls (5-10) fell behind in the bottom of the fourth inning to the No. 1 Gators (16-0), 1-0. Florida stole the lead from USF in the bottom of the eighth inning with a solo home run by Nathan Hickey.
The Bulls were able to tie the game in the top of the sixth inning. After Nick Gonzalez would hit a lead-off single to left field, Carmine Lane would move Gonzalez into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. JD Dutka would tie the game with an RBI double down the left field line to score Gonzalez.
No. 25 Arizona 10, Houston 6 -

Houston dropped its series finale on Sunday to No. 25 Arizona, 10-6, at Hi Corbett Field. The Cougars fell to 5-9, while Arizona improved to 10-5.
Rey Mendoza finished 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored. Mendoza drilled his first career home run on Sunday. Brad Burckel had a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, recording a solo home run and scoring twice.
