Houston climbed into solo second place in The American standings after picking up a four-set midweek win against Tulane. The Cougars downed the Green Wave 25-23, 25-15, 18-25, 25-13.
 
Abbie Jackson hit .354 with 18 kills and 11 digs to lead the way for Houston in the victory. Annie Cooke filled the stat sheet with 41 assists, six digs and six kills and Kennedy Warren narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and 12 digs for the Cougars.
 
Lexie Douglas turned in 15 kills and 15 digs while hitting .333 for Tulane. Michelle Urquhart tallied 13 kills and nine digs and Taylor Henigsman chipped in 46 assists and three digs for the Green Wave.
