The University of Cincinnati Bearcats fell at home to the Ohio University Bobcats 73-62 on Tuesday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats fall to 2-1 on the season after winning their first two games at Fifth Third Arena.
 
Cincinnati played host to local schools within the tri-state area as part of Education Day, hosting 1,500 students and faculty for the afternoon.
 
The Bearcats started the game on an emphatic 14-2 run led by Arame Niang's six points and a Jadyn Scott clutch-and-one lay-up for a 14-5 lead. The Bobcats responded with a massive 17-2 run thanks to a balanced attack to take a 22-16 lead at the break.
 
Erica Johnson hit two three-point shots to start the second quarter and the visitors led 28-16. The Bearcats tightened up on defense in the second quarter, and went 4:38 without allowing an Ohio field goal. Arame Niang led all Bearcats with eight points and five rebounds at the half as Cincinnati trailed 45-29.
 
Ohio opened up the second half on a 11-0 run and never looked back. AAC conference player of the week fouled out mid-way during the fourth quarter.
