UCF clinched at least a share of the 2021 American Volleyball Championship with its 13th straight victory, sweeping Temple on Senior Night on Friday in Orlando. The Knights earned an impressive 25-14, 25-2, 25-17 win.
 
McKenna Melville hit .318 with 10 kills, 11 digs and four block assists in the final regular season home match of the season. Nerissa Moravec tallied seven kills and five block assists and Anne-Marie Watson chipped in six kills and five block assists in the UCF win.
 
Gem Grimshaw led Temple with seven kills and five digs in the defeat. Miray Bolukbasi added six kills and seven digs for the Owls.
 
Cincinnati 3, Wichita State 2 (25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-6)
 
Cincinnati erased a two sets-to-one deficit on Friday to win the final two frames and down Wichita State in five sets (25-20, 21-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-6).
 
Maria Mallon logged 18 kills, three service aces and 15 digs in the Cincinnati victory. Abby Walker finished with 13 kills, six total blocks and six digs, and Kailea Carrier closed with 10 kills and five total blocks for the Bearcats.
 
Brylee Kelly recorded 15 kills, two aces and seven digs in the hard-luck loss for Wichita State. Sophia Rohling hit .370 with 14 kills and five block assists.
 
Houston 3, Memphis 0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-20)
 
Houston kept pace with UCF with a seventh straight conference triumph, sweeping Memphis 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.
 
Rachel Tullos hit .389 with 10 kills and four block assists for Houston. Abbie Jackson registered 10 kills and nine digs for the Cougars, and Isabel Theut hit .462 with eight kills in the win.
 
SMU 3, Tulane 0 (25-11, 25-21, 25-19)
 
SMU clicked on all cylinders to defeat Tulane in straight sets at home, picking up a 25-11, 25-21, 25-19 win over the Green Wave.
 
Hannah Jacobs hit at a .440 clip with a team-high 13 kills to power the SMU offense, and Jadyn Bauss turned in 12 kills and 12 digs. Bria’ Merchant registered a match-high 20 digs.
 
Michelle Urquhart guided Tulane with nine kills, three block assists and six digs, and Mackenzie Martin hit .368 with nine kills and three digs.
 
Tulsa 3, East Carolina 2 (25-20, 25-23, 24-26, 22-25, 15-10)
 
Tulsa won a back-and-forth five-set showdown on the road at East Carolina, outlasting the Pirates 25-20, 25-23, 24-26, 22-25, 15-10.
 
Kayley Cassaday drilled 23 kills on the night to lead Tulsa in the victory. Maggie Hembree hit .586 with 18 kills and six total blocks, and Roosa Rautio went for 63 assists, 10 digs and three block assists.
 
Natalie Tyson turned in a double-double of 20 kills and 13 digs, and Bri Wood notched 16 kills and 16 digs for ECU.
