SMU's Davis, Temple's Williams Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the 12th week of the 2020-21 season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kendric Davis, Jr., Guard, SMU
Davis led SMU to an away win over East Carolina on Feb. 8 with 25 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. It was his eighth 20-point game of the season and eighth time with seven or more assists this year.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jeremiah Williams, Guard, Temple
Williams recorded a career-high 16 points along with four assists and two steals at Cincinnati on Feb. 12. The freshman was efficient from the field, going 7-or-11.
 
HONOR ROLL
Darius Perry, Sr., Guard, UCF
Perry averaged 19.3 points, 3.7 assists and had a 1.6 assist-to-turnover ratio in three games last week for the Knights.
 
Mika Adams-Woods, So., Guard, Cincinnati
Adams-Woods led the Bearcats in scoring with 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in wins over Temple and UCF.
 
Quentin Grimes, Jr., Guard, Houston
Grimes posted 29 points, including six 3-point field goals, four rebounds and two assists in the Cougars win at USF on Feb. 10.
 
Jaylen Forbes, So., Guard, Tulane
Forbes averaged 17.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Green Wave. The sophomore guard posted 39 points in the two wins (19.5 average).
 
Alterique Gilbert, R-Sr., Guard, Wichita State
Gilbert helped lead the Shockers to a win at UCF with 17 points and three 3-pointers on Feb. 10. The redshirt-senior guard had five points in the last 33 seconds to help seal the win.
