IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending February 14.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Monica Borzillo • A • Sr. • Cincinnati • Devon, Pa.
Borzillo figured in 11 of the Bearcats’ 20 goals, tying the American Athletic Conference single-game points record, to lead Cincinnati to a 20-19 season-opening win against Marquette. Borzillo scored five goals and equaled the conference record with six assists to register her third career 11-point game. She scored back-to-back goals to erase a 19-17 deficit, including the tying goal with 1:38 left in regulation.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Nicole LeGar • M • Sr. • East Carolina • Eldersburg, Md.
LeGar had game highs of six points (2g, 4a) and eight draw controls along with a ground ball and a caused turnover in the Pirates’ 16-14 win against Furman to open the season. She had two goals and two assists in the first half to help East Carolina build an 11-6 halftime lead and had two key assists in the second half, including on the Pirates’ man-down goal with 11:08 left that stood up as the gamewinner.

Cara Trombetta • D • Sr. • Florida • Holbrook, N.Y.
Trombetta led a Florida defense that held Louisville to seven goals in a 14-7 season-opening win for the No. 7/8-ranked Gators. She finished with a game-high four ground balls to lead all American Athletic Conference players on the opening weekend and had two caused turnovers as the Gators held the Cardinals’ starting attack unit to only one goal.

Sarah Reznick • G • RFr. • Florida • Long Beach, N.Y.
Reznick registered 11 saves and allowed seven goals to help No. 7/8 Florida to a 14-7 season-opening win at Louisville. She made nine saves in the second half, limiting the Cardinals to one goal through the first 25 minutes of the period, allowing the Gators to reel off six consecutive goals to put the game out of reach.
