IRVING, Texas - Cincinnati senior attack Monica Borzillo has been chosen as the first US Lacrosse Women's Division I Player of the Week of the 2021 season.
 

Borzillo, who was also chosen as the American Athletic Conference Attack Player of the Week, figured in 11 of the Bearcats’ 20 goals, tying The American and the Cincinnati single-game points records, to lead the Bearcats to a 20-19 season-opening win against Marquette.

Borzillo scored five goals and equaled the conference record with six assists to register her third career 11-point game. She scored back-to-back goals to erase a 19-17 deficit, including the tying goal with 1:38 left in regulation.
