Houston's Grimes, Memphis' Cisse Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the 15th week of the 2020-21 season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quentin Grimes, Jr., Guard, Houston
Grimes averaged 27.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a pair of Houston wins last week. The junior guard had 22 points in the first half of a win over USF on Feb. 28.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Moussa Cisse, Center, Memphis
Cisse averaged 8.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks while shooting 53.8 percent from the field in two wins for the Tigers. He had 11 points and seven rebounds in a close win at Cincinnati on Feb. 28.
 
HONOR ROLL
Jeremiah Davenport, So., Guard, Cincinnati
Davenport helped lead the Bearcats to a 2-1 week by averaging 16.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
 
Boogie Ellis, So., Guard, Memphis
Ellis averaged 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in a pair of wins for the Tigers.
 
Khalif Battle, So., Guard, Temple
Battle recorded 22 points, six rebounds and four assists in a win for the Owls at USF,
 
Jaylen Forbes, So., Guard, Tulane
Forbes averaged 24.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in a pair of games last week. The sophomore guard scored 37 points against Cincinnati on Feb. 26, the most in the conference this season.
 
Elijah Joiner, Sr., Guard, Tulsa
Joiner led the Golden Hurricane with 22 points, six rebounds and four assists against Cincinnati on Feb. 24.
