IRVING, Texas -- USF women's soccer's Sydny Nasello has been named one of 15 semifinalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy, as announced by the Missouri Athletic Club Tuesday, May 4.

The MAC Hermann Trophy, presented by World Wide Technology, is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female players of the year. This year's award was pushed back to accommodate the seasons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Winners will be announced May 27 at the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Press Conference and Banquet taking place at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.
 
In 12 starts with the Bulls this season, Nasello led South Florida in scoring with 17 points on the season. Not only a goal scorer, finding the back of the net six times during the year, she also was a playmaker for others, tallying five assists on the year.
 
The Land O' Lakes, Fla., native also ranks highly in the statistical rankings. Nasello is 10^th in the country with four game-winning goals and 11^th with 2.33 shots on goal per game.
 
After earning AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors three times during the season, the junior was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year and earned first team All-American Athletic Conference honors.
 
After scoring a brace against Cincinnati in the AAC Tournament Championship game, Nasello was honored as the tournament's Most Outstanding Offensive Player.
