No. 10/9 Tulsa opened an early lead and fended off an attempted South Florida comeback, defeating the Bulls 5-2 on Saturday night. The Golden Hurricane improved to a perfect 6-0-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in American play.
 
Alex Meinhard (4:04) and Malik Henry-Scott (20:27) each scored their fourth goals of the season to give Tulsa a 2-0 lead. Gabrielle Privitera bagged a brace for USF at 33:05 and 60:21 to get USF within one at 3-2, but goals from Austen Schweinert (60:46) and Isaiah Quarcoo (80:12) thwarted the Bulls’ momentum.
 
No. 18/13 SMU 4, Temple 1
 
An impressive showing for No. 18/13 SMU on the road at Temple yielded the Mustangs a 4-1 win in their American lid-lifter for the 2021 season. SMU outshot the Owls 15-8 on the night, including 10-3 in shots on goal.
 
Papa Ndoye netted a brace for SMU at 20:17 and 88:18 to power the Mustang attack, and Gabriel Costa netted the primary assist on all four goals that featured tallies from Harvey Castro (25:50) and Jose Ortiz (80:00). Nigel Griffith scored the lone Temple goal at 59:57.
 
UCF 4, Memphis 1
 
Early goals from Anderson Rosa and Lucca Dourado proved to be the difference for UCF in a 4-1 American league victory at Memphis. The Knights outshot the Tigers 20-11 in the conference-opening match for both teams.
 
Rosa’s goal at 10:29 and Dourado’s tally at 16:06 provided UCF a 2-0 cushion. Memphis’ Lineker Rodrigues Dos Santos found the back of the net at 45:02 right out of the locker room to cut the deficit to 2-1, but Dourado found his second goal of the night and seventh of the year for the 3-1 lead for the Knights at 77:16. Beto Ydrach capped the scoring with a UCF goal at 84:17.
