SMU was clicking on all cylinders in the first American conference match of the 2021 season, defeating Memphis in straight sets 25-21, 26-24, 26-24 in Dallas.
Hannah Jacobs led the way for SMU with a .591 hitting percentage and 15 kills, adding three block assists in the win. Jadyn Bauss went for a Mustang double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs, and Rachel Woulfe hit .375 with 11 kills. Lily Heim also added a double-double with 29 assists and 10 digs for SMU.
Miaya Smith clocked a .524 hitting percentage, 11 kills and three digs in the setback for Memphis. Tabytha Toelke finished the afternoon with a team-high 14 kills and eight digs for the Tigers.
