Temple remained among the three unbeaten teams in The American, picking up its first win of the season by way of a 3-1 victory over Manhattan on Saturday in the 2021 home opener. The Owls finished with a 16-5 lead in total shot attempts and a dominant 10-2 in corner kicks.
Nigel Griffith scored the first Temple goal of the season, finding the back of the net at 10:15 for the 1-0 lead. Marques Antoine broke a 1-1 tie at 53:18 with his first goal of the season to put the Owls back in front 2-1. Just over three minutes later, Mike Eijgendaal put home a Griffith assist at 56:52 to push the Temple edge to 3-1.
