Cincinnati picked up its second straight win to close play at Notre Dame for the weekend, downing Bowling Green in five sets. The Bearcats raced out to a 2-0 lead and hung on for a 25-19, 25-14, 16-25, 23-25, 15-12 victory.
Maria Mallon led Cincinnati with 16 kills and 32 digs in the win, chipping in three total blocks. Emme Madden chipped in a double-double with 49 assists and 13 digs, and Shannon Williams contributed 12 kills.
Miami 3, South Florida 0 (15-25, 23-25, 23-25)
South Florida lost the second leg of a home-and-home with Miami, falling in straight sets on Sunday after losing in four frames earlier in the weekend. The Hurricanes capped the sweep with scores of 25-15, 25-23, 25-23.
Amanda DeWitt paced USF with 13 kills during Sunday’s contest, and Marta Cvitkovic added nine kills and 11 digs.
