Houston's Tune, UCF's Celiscar, ECU's Conrad Named Players of the Week

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the week-ending Oct. 29.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Clayton Tune • Sr. • QB • Houston
Tune led Houston to its third straight win as he accounted for 399 yards of total offense and had four touchdown passes in a 42-27 win against South Florida, moving the Cougars into a tie for second place in The American standings. Tune completed 31 of 37 passes (a career-high 83.8%) for 380 yards and scoring passes of 1, 52, 12 and 28 yards to help the Cougars break open what had been a 14-14 game. Tune, who surpassed 10,000 career passing yards, became the first player in American Athletic Conference history to finish a game with at least 30 completions, 300 passing yards, four touchdown passes and  an 80% completion percentage.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Josh Celiscar • Jr. • DE • UCF
Celiscar led a UCF defense that limited No. 20/19 Cincinnati to 35 rushing yards and 333 total yards as the Knights moved into a tie for second in the American Athletic Conference and ended the Bearcats’ winning streak against conference opponents at 19 games in a 25-21 victory. Celiscar registered five solo tackles, including a sack and a safety to help the Knights hold the Bearcats to three rushing first downs and 4-for-14 on third-down conversions.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Conrad • Fr. • K • East Carolina
Conrad scored nine points, including the game-winning field goal as time expired, to lift East Carolina to a 27-24 win at BYU, giving the Pirates bowl eligibility for the second consecutive season. Conrad connected on a 23-yard field goal in the second quarter before hitting the 33-yard gamewinner to end the game.
 
HONOR ROLL
RJ Harvey • Jr. • RB • UCF
Rushed for 84 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries in a 25-21 win against No. 20/19 Cincinnati.
 
Keaton Mitchell • So. • RB • East Carolina
Had 21 carries for 176 yards and a touchdown, turning in his third straight 100-yard game, in a 27-24 win at BYU.
 
John Marshall • Sr. • LB • Navy
Had 11 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack, three quarterback hurries and five pass breakups in a 27-20 overtime win against Temple. Had three tackles and a pass breakup on Temple’s six overtime plays
 
Tyler Lavine • Sr. • RB • SMU
Rushed for 72 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-34 win at Tulsa.
 
Rashee Rice • Sr. • WR • SMU
Had nine receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-34 win at Tulsa.
