MEMPHIS - Led by Jelena Prolic's 18 kills, 11 digs double-double, the Temple Owls defeated the Memphis Tigers on Friday, 25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-14, improving to 10-16 overall and 4-11 in American Athletic Conference play.
 
Prolic's 11th double-double of the season dropped the Tigers to 17-11 overall and 7-8 in conference play.
 
Owls' hitters Taylor Davenport and Peyton Boyd added 14 kills apiece.
 
With her 14 kills, Boyd hit .464, the fourth time this season the redshirt senior hit over .400 in a match.
 
Davenport matched her career-high with six aces, a mark she set earlier this season on Oct. 21 versus SMU in McGonigle Hall.
 
Friday marked the fourth straight match that Prolic, Boyd, and Davenport have tallied double-double figure kills in a match.
 
As a team, the Cherry and White hit .286, their second-best output of the season.
 
It was the ninth time this season the Owls tallied eight or more service aces in a match.
 
Cincinnati 3, South Florida 1 – Box Score
CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati volleyball team won its second straight match, defeating South Florida in four sets on Friday night at The Corral in Tampa, Fla. 
 
The Bearcats (8-17, 6-9 American) earned the season sweep of the Bulls for the fifth straight season. 
 
Sophomore Shaye Eggleston led the Bearcats with her second double-double in as many games. She recorded a team-high 14 kills with zero attacking errors to go along with 11 digs. She added three service aces and two blocks in the victory.
 
Redshirt senior Kailea Carrier provided a career night at the net, posting a career-high seven blocks. She registered nine kills with only one attacking error on 18 attempts for an efficient clip of .444. Thanks to Carrier's effort, the Bearcats outblocked the Bulls, eight to four.
 
Cincinnati also notched eight service aces in the victory, including a career-high-tying four aces from Abby Walker.
 
Wichita State 3, Tulane 1 – Box Score
WICHITA - Wichita State fought back a furious late rally from Tulane, besting the Green Wave 25-14, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23 on Friday night at Charles Koch Arena.
 
The Shockers (14-11, 9-5 American) appeared to be well on their way to wrapping up the match comfortably, leading 20-14 late into the fourth set. But the Green Wave (8-18, 3-12 AMerican) roared back, tying up the match at 23-23 on the sixth service ace of the night from Kayla Kaiser. On the ensuing point, Tulane's Ceren Aki sliced a ball into the net to bring WSU to match point, and Natalie Foster powered home the winner a few moments later to help the Shockers escape with the win.
 
Brylee Kelly helped get the Shockers across the finish line with a superb final set, registering seven kills on 12 attempts as part of her stellar outing. The redshirt junior finished with 16 kills and 12 digs, her fourth double-double in the last seven matches.
 
Wichita State led just 12-11 early in the opening stanza, but put the hammer down with a 7-0 run that included attack errors from four different Tulane hitters. Two kills from Kelly and a block from Foster and Kayce Litzau capped a dominant first set in which the Green Wave were held to a .000 attack percentage.
 
WSU raced to a commanding lead in the second set, ballooning the advantage to 14-4 midway through the frame and eventually 22-13. The Green Wave refused to go quietly, however, thanks to the excellent serving from Kaiser, who recorded three aces in a row to help Tulane inch within 23-19. A Sophia Rohling kill finally got Kaiser off the line and made it 24-19, but the Green Wave scored three in a row to tighten the margin to just two. Morgan Weber was the hero on the subsequent point, tucking a ball in off the Tulane block for a 2-0 lead.
 
Weber delivered a sterling performance, ending just one kill shy of a double-double with nine terminations and a match-high-tying 22 digs, plus three blocks.
 
Tulane forced a fourth set thanks to a big run of their own, turning a 10-9 lead into 17-11 thanks to a flurry of kills from Melissa Kolurbasi, who paced the Green Wave with 12 on the evening. The Shockers pulled within four down the stretch but would get no closer, setting the stage for the drama of the fourth set.
 
Litzau delivered 43 assists as four different Shockers had nine or more kills. Foster continued her excellent run of form with 12 kills and a .423 hitting percentage. Lara Uyar entered the night with zero aces on the season and promptly recorded five, plus 15 digs as the libero.
 
SMU 3, East Carolina 0 – Box Score
DALLAS - The SMU Mustangs defeated the East Carolina Pirates to improve to 19-8 overall and 12-3 in The American with a 3-0 sweep on Friday night. The Pirates fall fall 9-18 overall and 4-11 in The American

Jamison Wheeler led the Mustangs with 15 kills in the match, while Marieke van der Mark added 11 kills. They were paced by Ceclia Cullen who ended with 36 assists.

On defense, London Austin-Roark finished with four blocks, while Tatum Ticknor ended with 12 digs.

The Pirates were led by Angeles Alderete and Izzy Marinelli who both finished the match with 10 kills. They were paced by Julianna Askew's 17 assists.

Defensively, Carlia Northcross had five blocks in the match, while Kenzie Beckham had 17 digs.
 
Houston 3, Tulsa 0 – Box Score
TULSA, Okla. – Junior libero Kate Georgiades broke the program record for digs in a three-set match with 34 as the No. 23 University of Houston volleyball team posted their 16th straight win and sixth consecutive sweep in a 3-0 win over Tulsa on Friday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
 
Houston (24-2, 15-0 The American) saw a complete team effort in the straight-set win. The team posted a .383 hitting percentage while limiting Tulsa (11-15, 4-10 The American) to a .152 efficiency. Overall, the Cougars posted 53 assists, tying the program-record for assists in a three-set match that has now been hit three times in team history (Oct. 7, 2007 vs. SMU; Nov. 6, 2006 vs. Rice).
 
Senior Morgan Janda posted her third straight double-double in the win, tallying 33 assists and 11 digs. Meanwhile, the Cougars had three players tally double-digit kills. Graduate Isabel Theut led the match with 17 kills, senior Abbie Jackson earned 14, and graduate Kennedy Warren recorded 12. Junior Annie Cooke also posted 16 assists in the match. Jackson also passed the 1,500 kill milestone and now sits at 1,506 in her career.
