Memphis Advances to NCAA Second Round with 1-0 Win over No. 2 Saint Louis

SAINT LOUIS -- Memphis advanced to the second roud of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship after defeating No. 2 seed Saint Louis, 1-0, Saturday, November 12 in Saint Louis.

Memphis moves on to face No. 7 seed Mississippi State, who defeated New Mexico State, 2-1, in the first round. The second round will take place at No. 3 Arkansas, who will face No. 6 Ohio State. Both second-round contests will take place on Friday, Nov. 18.

The Tigers (10-5-5) scored the only goal of the game in the 64th minute when Mya Jones sent in a cross at the backpost to Saorla Miller, who tapped the ball in between the legs of Saint Louis goalkeeper Emily Puricelli.

Claire Wyville made four saves for the Tigers, while Puricelli recorded three saves for Saint Louis (20-2-0).
