RALEIGH, N.C. -- American Athletic Conference women's soccer regular season champion UCF is moving on the NCAA Championship second round after winning a penalty shootout on the road at No. 8 seed NC State on Sunday, November 13.
UCF (9-2-6) moves on to face No. 1 seed UCLA on Friday, November 18 at 10 p.m. ET in Pasadena, Calif.
After 110 minutes and being tied 1-1 with both teams converting penalty kicks during regulation, the Knights took part in a shootout for the second straight game.
In the shootout, UCF missed its first kick, but Caroline DeLisle came up with back-to-back saves on NC State's third and fourth attempts. Up stepped Darya Rajaee, who scored the Knights' penalty kick in regulation. She converted and sent the Knights to the second round.
