RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Jaykwon Walton had 20 points in Wichita State’s 56-53 victory over Richmond on Thursday night.
Walton was 6 of 13 shooting, including 2 for 4 from distance, and went 6 for 8 from the line for the Shockers (2-1). James Rojas added 15 points while shooting 5 of 7 from the field and 4 for 5 from the line, and he also had six rebounds. Craig Porter Jr. was 5 of 9 shooting (1 for 3 from distance) to finish with 11 points, while adding nine rebounds and five steals.
The Spiders (2-2) were led in scoring by Isaiah Bigelow, who finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds and two steals. Tyler Burton added 15 points and eight rebounds and Jason Nelson finished with seven points, seven assists and two steals.
Walton put up 10 points in the first half for Wichita State, who led 28-19 at the break. Walton led Wichita State with 10 points in the second half as his team was outscored by six points over the final half but held on for the victory.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Tulsa used a big second half to pull away and defeat Loyola Chicago, 85-66, on the first day of the Myrtle Beach Invitational. With the win, Tulsa (2-1) will face Charlotte in the semifinals on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPNU.
With the game tied at 38, the Golden Hurricane went on a 20-3 run to storm to a 58-41 lead.
Sam Griffin led Tulsa with 20 points, while Brandon Betson added 18 points off the bench and Tim Dalger almost recorded a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Philip Alston led Loyola Chicago with 18 points.
Austin Peay 62, South Florida 60 -

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Sean Durugordon’s 15 points off of the bench helped lead Austin Peay to a 62-60 victory against South Florida on Thursday night.
Durugordon added six rebounds for the Governors (2-2). Caleb Stone-Carrawell shot 4 for 8 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free throw line to add 12 points. Elijah Hutchins-Everett recorded 11 points and was 3 of 6 shooting and 3 of 4 from the free throw line.
The Bulls (0-4) were led in scoring by Tyler Harris, who finished with 14 points and four assists. Sam Hines Jr. added 13 points, six rebounds and two blocks for South Florida. Selton Miguel also had 13 points.
Austin Peay went into halftime leading South Florida 32-30. Shon Robinson scored 10 points in the half. Hutchins-Everett led Austin Peay with 11 points in the second half.
