DALLAS -- SMU defeated Evansville, 55-47, in the only American Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Saturday, November 19.

SMU (2-2) held the Aces (1-3) to 28.8 percent shooting (19-66). The Mustangs, who were down 21-17, shot 45.8 percent in the second half (11-24) to pull away.

Zhuric Phelps led the Mustangs with 15 points, while Zach Nutall added 13. Efe Odigie had his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Blaise Beauchamp led all scorers with 16 points for the Aces.
