PHILADELPHIA - Edward Saydee rushed for a career-high 265 yards and thre touchdowns, while E.J. Warner hit a career high with 344 passing yards and two TDs to lead Temple to a 54-28 win against South Florida Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field.
Saydee scored touchdown runs of 75, 40 and 27 yards as the Owls exploded for season highs of 54 points and 621 yards of offense. Temple entered the game ranked last in the American Athletic Conference, averaging 15.5 points and 284.4 yards per game.
Temple pulled away from what had been a 16-14 halftime lead by scoring 38 points in the second half.
The Owls scored on all 10 of their offensiver series that did not end a half.
Jose Barbon had eight receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown for the Owls, who improved to 3-6 overall and 1-4 in The American.
South Florida got three touchdown passes from Katravis Marsh and saw running back Brian Battie rush for 129 yards, but the Bulls were undone by three turnovers.The Bulls fell to 1-8 overall and 0-5 in The American.
